Project Overview

Swap is an AI-powered platform that allows people to earn, store, and exchange value through skills and effort, even when money is not involved. Every day, people create real value by tutoring, designing, building, advising, and helping others. When these exchanges happen without payment, the value often disappears once the task is done. There is no record of the contribution, no way to carry that value forward, and no way for effort to build over time. Swap supports both direct and indirect barter. In a direct barter, two users can exchange services with each other when their needs align. When a direct exchange is not possible, Swap enables an indirect barter system where users earn Swap Credits for verified work they complete. These credits can be stored and used later with anyone on the platform, rather than requiring an immediate one-to-one trade. This flexibility allows skill exchange to happen more often and at a larger scale. AI is central to how Swap works. The platform uses semantic search to help users find the right people based on intent, skills, and past contributions, not just keywords. Machine learning models support trust and reliability scoring using completion history and feedback. Natural language processing helps users clearly describe needs, define scope, and communicate effectively. Together, these systems make skill-based exchange safer, more efficient, and easier to scale. Swap Credits are not money and are not speculative. They are earned only through verified human effort and act as a lasting record of contribution within the system. By turning work into reusable value, Swap creates a lightweight economic layer that recognizes contributions wherever they happen. Initial use cases include students exchanging skills, creators collaborating, freelancers contributing to early-stage projects, and communities organizing peer-to-peer support. Swap helps people participate in meaningful work, build reputation, and unlock opportunities that traditional cash-based systems often overlook.

About Team

Kenna brings a strong foundation in product design, cross-functional collaboration, and user-centered problem solving. As a two-time Product Design Intern at ServiceNow, she has worked closely with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to design solutions for complex, real-world systems. Her experience navigating ambiguity, communicating across disciplines, and delivering thoughtful designs under real product constraints makes her a key driver of clarity and alignment within the team. Kenna also has a proven record of leadership and impact, having led and contributed to teams recognized in national innovation and design competitions, where collaboration, vision, and execution were critical. Otito brings a product-driven software engineering mindset with a strong focus on AI-powered systems and scalability. He has built and shipped full-stack applications that integrate intelligent data pipelines, backend services, and user-facing products, with experience spanning startups, research, and internships at companies such as LinkedIn and Dell. Beyond engineering execution, Otito contributes go-to-market strategy, marketing insight, and technical storytelling, helping shape positioning, early adoption strategies, and growth experiments. His ability to align technical decisions with real user needs and market realities ensures the team builds solutions that are both technically sound and commercially viable. Olaoluwa brings strong technical execution, analytical thinking, and reliability to the team. With experience contributing to complex software projects and collaborative technical environments, he excels at breaking down problems, implementing robust solutions, and supporting team momentum from build to delivery. James is a consistent and dependable teammate who takes ownership of his work, communicates clearly, and helps ensure that ideas move from concept to completion with quality and precision. Immanuella Umoren is a Computer Science senior who genuinely enjoys building technology that solves real problems and actually helps people. She brings a balance of strong technical skills, creativity, and follow-through to every team she’s part of. She has interned at ServiceNow, Meta, and Oracle, working on real, production-level systems, and she is an incoming Software Engineer at Oracle. Immanuella has hands-on experience across full-stack development, machine learning, and AI, and she’s comfortable jumping between building features, designing systems, and experimenting with models. What really sets her apart is how she works with people. She communicates clearly, asks the right questions, and helps teams stay grounded when things get fast or messy. She thrives in hackathon environments like Imagine Cup, where collaboration, creativity, and execution matter. Immanuella shows up curious, reliable, and ready to turn ideas into something real.
