IoT-WMCS

Developing countries are most affected by water shortage, flooding, and poor water quality. This project focuses on the water scarcity problem of developing countries, especially Pakistan, and proposed an approach to reduce the wastage of water in daily life at the domestic level and industrial levels. IoT-WMCS is a smart device that manages water resources by detecting the quantity and quality of water in real-time remotely through IoT-WMCS mobile application; preventing water wastage and improving the sense of water consumption in people. Furthermore, this smart system offers to remotely control devices by turning them on and off the water motor pumps, setting the timer-based ON/OFF of pumps, and controlling the pump by monitoring the percentage of water to control water pumps through a mobile application. It will be able to improve accuracy and reduce the risk of human errors by automatic controlling of water pumps Remote monitoring of the water level in the underground tank and overhead tank in real-time will effectively manage the home inventory. Water wastage could be curbed in a cost-effective way that will contribute to environmental safety on a parallel basis.

I am an undergraduate (final year) student from Sindh, Pakistan, and a Telecommunication Engineer at Dawood University of Engineering & Technology. I am working alone on this project. I am very passionate about developing networks where devices and products communicate with each other through automatic processes without human intervention. I am very excited to be a part of the Imagine Cup and share my project namely IoT Based Water Monitoring and Control System (IoT-WMCS) with the world to take it to the next level and truly achieve the goal of minimizing water wastage in the society.
