CropGuard is an AI-powered mobile app that helps Indian farmers detect crop diseases early and prevent losses. Every year, over 30% of crops in India are damaged due to undetected diseases, costing farmers millions.
Our solution: Farmers simply take a photo of their crop using the app. **Azure Custom Vision** analyzes the image with **95% accuracy** and instantly identifies the disease. It then suggests the right pesticide, dosage, and application method in local language.
We also integrate **IoT soil sensors** to monitor moisture and temperature, sending real alerts via SMS if conditions favor disease spread. The app works offline and supports Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
**Target Users**: 10 lakh+ small and marginal farmers in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
**Pilot**: Successfully tested with 50 farmers in Ghaziabad – reduced pesticide use by 40%.
**Tech Stack**: Python, Azure Custom Vision, Azure IoT Hub, Flutter (mobile), Power BI (farmer analytics dashboard).
**SDG Impact**: Zero Hunger (SDG 2) & Climate Action (SDG 13).

We are a passionate 3-member team from **Sunder Deep Group of Institutions, India**, driven to solve real-world farming challenges using AI and IoT.
- **Priyanshu** (Team Lead & ML Developer): Built the disease detection model using **Python** and **Azure Custom Vision**. Trained the model on 10,000+ crop images for 95% accuracy. 2+ years in Machine Learning, published a research paper on plant disease detection in IEEE Xplore.
- **Rishikesh** (Frontend & UI/UX Designer): Developed the farmer-friendly mobile app using **Flutter**. Designed simple, icon-based UI for low-literacy users. Supports offline mode and regional languages (Hindi, Tamil).
- **Ankit** (IoT & Hardware Specialist): Integrated low-cost soil sensors with **Azure IoT Hub**. Built a working prototype using Raspberry Pi and moisture/temperature sensors. Deployed in real fields during pilot.
We have won **2 national hackathons** (Smart India Hackathon 2024 – 2nd Prize, Microsoft AI Challenge) and published **1 research paper** in IEEE. Our shared goal: empower small farmers with affordable, AI-driven tools.
