Descrição Geral do Projeto
In today’s world blindness has become a big problem for many people, The biggest challenge for a blind person, especially the one with the complete loss of vision, is to navigate around places. Obviously, blind people roam easily around their house without any help because they know the position of everything in the house. People living with and visiting blind people must make sure not to move things around without informing or asking the blind person.
Commercial places can be made easily accessible for the blinds with tactile tiles. But unfortunately, this is not done in most places. This creates a big problem for blind people who might want to visit the place.
Recent studies in Pakistan have found that there is an inextricable link between blindness and poverty: the prevalence of total blindness in poor areas was more than three times that in affluent areas. Studies have also found that four million children in the country have a vision impairment. According to Journals, As of 2017, out of 207.7 million people in Pakistan, an estimated 1.12 million (95% Uncertainty Interval [UI] 1.07–1.19) were blind (Visual Acuity [VA] <3/60), 1.09 million [0.93–1.24] people had severe vision loss (3/60≤VA<6/60) and 6.79 million [6.00–7.74] people had moderate vision loss (6/60≤VA<6/18) and its ratio is increasing day by day, but some smart glasses are also available at the international market but costs a lot, therefore, lots of people cannot buy those glasses.
They are facing:
• Difficulties in Navigating Around the Places.
• Finding Reading Materials difficult to read.
• Confusion between multiple sounds.
• Problems in crossing the roads which cause accidents bring many lives in danger.
• Similar Products are available for assistance but are very costly.
The existing sources that are used as alternatives to blindness are insufficient because with the passage of time new things and discoveries have been made which makes it difficult to teach blind people: Navigating Around the Places, Finding Reading Materials, getting different devices to become Independent, Accidents happens which brings many lives in danger, there are some products which are very costly and can’t affordable. The customers need a smart gadget that is cost-effective for assistance as it becomes affordable to buy and helps blind persons to get survival possible in this world.
We came up with a solution to develop cheap smart glasses for blind people to make survival possible.
Here the focus is to make an effective and accurate AI-based solution.
This can help blind or visually impaired people to solve their problems of sight.
Updates and repair service will be provided too.
In this project, we will develop smart glasses with a new technology method that can reduce the response time and improve the accuracy rate. Here the focus is to make an effective and accurate device where major functionalities will be improved with the best result, which can help blind or impaired people to solve their problems.
Sobre a Equipa
The team consists of five members which include a Leader, a Business Development Officer, AI Expert, and two Members. A Leader will be responsible for the overall management of the project; he will oversee the project implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the project. Wherever, a Business Development Officer will have the responsibility of the planning, procurement, and execution of a project but need some executive guidance and reviewing after initial drafting from the Leader.
An AI Expert will guide the project technicalities and the marketing officer will be responsible for marketing the product.
For assisting the overall project we have two Members who will collect and analyze data for the project, will perform literature reviews, conduct research and summarize findings.
