Vue d’ensemble du projet
According to the Global Burden of Diseases (GBD) study conducted in 2019, the total number of cardiovascular cases has doubled, and death-related cardiovascular diseases have increased by 50 % globally in the last three decades. There are multiple reasons for heart and cardiovascular diseases which include genetic disorders, lifestyle issues, accidents etc. Heart attack or myocardial infection is one of the common acute heart conditions which occurs when the heart muscles do not get enough blood. Heart attack can lead to the death of individuals if proper treatment is not taken at that instant.
ECG (electrocardiogram) is used to monitor the heart rhythm and it can often detect the existence of heart diseases, heart attack, or abnormal heart rhythms. This work proposes a smart wearable band for the detection of heart abnormalities including heart attacks using ECG signals. Immediate intervention after a prediction can save a patient at risk. Real-time monitoring can enable ambulance services to be notified and customized medications can be administered, saving a life and mitigating any collateral damage that may come with it such as road accidents, falls, etc.
