Title IoT Based Domestic Metering Device Problem Statement The assembled kilowatt-hour meter by electrical energy providers will only show the electrical consumption in terms of kWh rather than showing the cost of energy that we have spent. In order to check the unit's consumption, the consumer has to go to check the meter physically but if the device display the consumed units and pricing information on the mobile application then it might function accordingly. Keeping these requirements in mind we propose a project to show the electrical consumption pricing in real-time. Abstract The project focuses on the design and creation of a device with a mobile application for the electricity consumer. This device will make it very easier for a customer to monitor home/office appliances Watts(W), Ampere(A), Voltage(V), units consumed (KWh), the running duration & Bill Amount (Cost) in real-time. The design will involve communication between a PIC microcontroller and the mobile application. It is a device that can be accessed anywhere by using a mobile application as compared to other smart meters. These devices will be implemented at single phase supply areas like homes, offices, shops and submeters. Real-time pricing will give a real cost-controlling opportunity to consumers and to plan and manage their electrical consumption effectively. Objective The main objectives of this lab are:  To design and creation of device as well as mobile application for the electricity consumers  Acquisition of real-time data from sensors that can be used by mobile app (voltage & current)  To design a mobile app that can record the real-time data of the user  To design a hardware that can fetch the data from the user end  To design a mobile app that can generate expected electricity bill on the basis of unit consumption  To design a mobile app that provides 24/7 online monitoring of the data Outcomes Studies shows that users prefer mobile apps more that mobile websites that’s why this idea introduces mobile app for electrical data metering.  Mobile app is main outcome which linked with the device that have several features for public  Mobile app monitors real time data of energy meter with better personalization  Mobile app is also incorporate with expected cost of electricity and units  Due to better operational efficiency user can get 24/7 online monitoring of unit consumption and expected bill at any time in the whole month on app  Providing real time data useful for balancing electrical load (Load Management) and reducing power outages  This mobile app also stores the data and user friendly  Real-time pricing will give a real cost-controlling opportunity to consumers and to plan and manage their electrical consumption effectively.

Acerca del equipo

This team is comprising of three members. All of them are bright students of Electrical Engineering (8th semester) at KFUEIT, RYK. Names of the members are Waqas Muhammad Khan (Leader of the team), Nida Tahir and Rao Mubasher Hussain respectively. Team is energetic and passionate. One of the most dynamic and exciting developments in information and communications technology is the advent of the Internet of Things (IoT). Unlike traditional systems, which connect general-purpose computers, IoT systems often link together highly specialized devices designed for specific purposes with only a limited degree of programmability and customizability. Keeping these features in mind, team decided to design a device that could serve the humanity by creating awareness for the load management and provide a mobile app that can be accessed from everywhere. For this team divided the project into different parts like theorical work, practical work, project management and its marketing. Team divides the work. Waqas as a leader puts his dedication in practical work, hardware selection and its assembling. Second member Nida puts her dedication in theoretical work like reporting, presentations, calculations and product marketing. Third and the last member Rao puts his dedication in the time management, reporting and product marketing.
