Project Overview
Hate speech is ubiquitous on the internet, but even platforms like Facebook and Twitter don't have methods of detecting it beyond keyword matching and user flags. In my project, I explore using a type of deep learning network called Long Short-Term Memory to tackle the problem of detecting hate speech and discovering hateful language as it evolves over time. This research was born out of an internship project, and is now part of my honors thesis at Stanford!
About Team
I'm a combined bachelor's and master's student at Stanford, studying CS theory and NLP. When building things, I'm interested in computational solutions for social problems, particularly in the areas of ethics, policy, and language understanding.
