Project Overview

World37 is a platform for interactive storytelling that allows players to experience stories where choices have lasting impact and characters respond consistently over time. Many existing interactive story apps give the illusion of choice, but decisions rarely matter beyond a single scene. Characters forget past interactions, story paths converge quickly, and emotional continuity breaks. At the same time, creating these stories is difficult for writers. Current tools require heavy scripting and technical work, which slows production and limits creativity. World37 is designed to address both problems. On the player side, stories are built around persistent characters and evolving narrative state, so decisions influence future interactions and outcomes. On the creator side, World37 provides tools that let writers focus on story structure and character development without needing to manually script every branch or visual detail. The platform uses a mobile 3D experience built with Unity to increase immersion and character customization, while a separate creation environment allows stories to be authored and published more efficiently. The goal is to make interactive stories feel more personal and coherent while also making them easier to create. World37 is currently in development, with early technical prototypes completed for story playback, character systems, and narrative structure. The next milestone is a closed beta that demonstrates deeper narrative continuity and a smoother creation workflow for writers.

About Team

World37 is currently led by a single founder. I am a computer science student and the sole team member working on World37. I am responsible for the overall idea, technical design, and implementation. I have built early versions of the narrative engine that convert story structure into data used during gameplay, as well as prototypes that combine character memory with a 3D Unity-based mobile experience. Alongside development, I have spent significant time researching existing interactive story platforms and speaking with players and writers to understand their limitations. That research directly informed how World37 approaches story structure, character consistency, and creation tools. Working independently has allowed me to move quickly and stay closely connected to both the technical challenges and the user experience. As the project continues, I plan to collaborate with additional students, contractors, and mentors in areas such as game development, animation, and applied AI to help bring the platform to a wider audience.
