Project Overview
Sahaya is an AI-powered digital protection platform built to stop the real-world harm caused by deepfakes and AI-generated non-consensual media.
Today, anyone’s face or voice can be copied using publicly available photos, videos, or social media content. With these tools, attackers create fake explicit images, videos, or voice recordings that look real enough to destroy reputations, enable blackmail, and cause severe psychological trauma. This is no longer a rare or technical problem—it is happening to students, women, professionals, creators, and even minors across the world.
The damage spreads extremely fast. Fake content is shared on social media, private messaging groups, forums, and adult websites within minutes. Victims usually discover it late, do not know where it originated, and are forced to deal with complicated reporting systems, legal confusion, and social fear. Current solutions are fragmented: detection tools exist separately, reporting is manual, and legal action is slow. By the time help arrives, the harm is already done.
Sahaya is designed to act at the moment of crisis.
Inspired by the Mahabharata episode where Shri Krishna intervenes during Draupadi’s Cheer Haran, Sahaya represents timely digital intervention when dignity is under attack. The platform brings detection, verification, monitoring, and response into one simple and accessible system.
First, users can upload any suspicious image or video to Sahaya. The system uses AI models to analyze whether the media is real or manipulated and explains the result in clear, understandable terms. This removes doubt and fear and gives users immediate clarity.
Second, users can optionally protect their identity by registering their face or voice securely. Sahaya then monitors public online spaces to detect misuse of that identity and alerts the user if harmful content appears elsewhere on the internet.
Third, once abuse is confirmed, Sahaya removes the hardest part: action. The platform automatically prepares platform-specific takedown requests, privacy violation reports, and legal documentation using verified evidence. Instead of victims navigating complex processes alone, Sahaya guides and accelerates every step.
Throughout the process, evidence is stored securely, case progress is tracked transparently, and user privacy is strictly protected. Sahaya is built with global legal awareness and privacy-first design, ensuring safety without further exposure.
The urgency of Sahaya lies in the speed of AI misuse. As generative tools become more powerful, abuse will only increase. Sahaya transforms AI from a threat into a protective layer—helping people respond faster than harm can spread.
Sahaya is not just about technology. It is about restoring control, dignity, and safety in a digital world where identity can be stolen in seconds.
About Team
Our team is a student-led, multidisciplinary group driven by a strong sense of social responsibility and real-world problem solving. We combine skills in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, system design, and research-driven innovation to build solutions that go beyond academic prototypes.
The motivation behind Sahaya comes from observing the growing misuse of AI technologies for harassment, defamation, and exploitation, especially targeting women, students, creators, and vulnerable individuals. Rather than treating this as a purely technical challenge, our team approaches it as a socio-technical problem that requires thoughtful design, legal awareness, and human-centered workflows.
We focus on building scalable, privacy-respecting systems that can operate across regions, languages, and legal frameworks. Our strengths include structured research, system architecture planning, ethical AI deployment, and translating complex technology into accessible tools for real users.
As a team, we believe technology should act as a protector, not a threat. Through Sahaya, we aim to demonstrate how responsible AI can restore trust, safety, and dignity in the digital ecosystem at a global scale.
