UNDEPRESS Depression is a growing problem worldwide. Affecting a sizable part of world population, it is the single largest contributor to global disability, according to WHO. Depression is also still far from solved. Many affected by it are not aware of their condition. Even when they are, most find it hard to seek help, due to factors such as social stigmas and small number of psychologists. The solution we put forward is a system that users can use to detect whether they have depression symptoms, and convince them to seek help if they do. Depression detection uses machine learning methods to learn from user data such as social media posts and real-life activities. Integrated with the system, we help to connect the depressed and psychologists to seek help.
