Project Overview
LifeHunt is a new app, which combines the old treasure hunting concept with modern gear and new concepts in order to provide knowledge by letting the user discover important places.
But LifeHunt is not just an app, it has the potential to become an activity and a strong brand.
The app works by structuring different series of locations in what we call quests. A user can start a quest, go through all the hotspots, and finish the quest. The game provides different levels of difficulty, starting with a basic pointed arrow at the easiest level and going to a simple riddle that must be solved by the user in order to discover the next location.
By this time I'm sure you can already see the addictiveness and the income potential of this app. There are so many ways to monetize it that it becomes a matter of choice and we get the liberty to pick the best way while sustaining an enjoyable experience for our users. That's why we won't have ads.
CONCEPT
The target audience for this app are active travellers that
want to explore in a different way compared to other
methods. In Denmark alone, there are over 4 million
people who come to visit this beautiful country, so our
main goal is to convert 10% of this number to become
active users of LifeHunt.
LifeHunt is for active travellers between the ages of 15 to
45, people who are fully capable of functioning a smart
phone, and able to understand their surroundings for fun
exploration.
The concept of the game is very basic for people of all
ages, wording and vocabulary for each quest is understandable
and the hints and structure for each quest is
appealing and fun.
LifeHunt does create an attractive concept with a clear
understanding of what the person is playing for. An exploration
app that is fun, educational, and usable for all ages.
The reason behind this app is to create a different way for
people to explore different cities in their country or in a
different country. And the concept is usable offline as well
so people will not have to worry about roaming charges.
FUN
LifeHunt is more exciting than other games because it
takes place in real life. The users actually are part of the
story because they write it.
There is a constant exchange of information between the
game and the player, who is immediately informed when
various events occur.
LifeHunt provides different difficulties for players, making
possible for every user to choose a appropriate difficulty.
The social media integration and the rich content we
provide will definitely make the user come back for more
as there is always more.
LifeHunt is for sure innovative in its way of combining
culture with movement and gaming. There are not many
games taking place in the real life while sustaining a virtual
support, and LifeHunt is the only one targeted at culture
via movement.
EXECUTION
The game is not only easy to learn and use, but it's natural.
Regarding usability, tutorials will be implemented right
away, we have a support team backing up any ticket as for
the game pause - no, we don't support it because LifeHunt
takes place in real life and you can't pause that.
LifeHunt has geolocation as the main input method, as
the whole game is based on location. Also for now it
requires Internet access - offline functionality to be implemented
at a later point. The accuracy of LifeHunt depends
on the GPS of the device running it.
As we are basing the app on geolocation we make use of
multiple sensors for accomplishing our purpose: GPS,
Wi-Fi and Cellular sensors.
FEASIBILITY
Our plan for bringing this app into the market is through
online promotion and partnerships with the businesses
and tourist attractions that is actively looking for more
patrons. The business model that we will develop will help
LifeHunt receive funding from investors and backers.
In order to see what attracts the Danish community for
this game we will be conducting an online survey as well
as a face-to-face survey to get a clear understanding with
the target audience that we are trying to attract. Our
hypothesis for a target audience are people who love to
travel and explore, between the ages of 15 – 40 and fully
understand the functionality of a smart phone.
With a new concept of exploration the success of this app
will have a very pragmatic chance of becoming successful.
There are three winners in this scenario through LifeHunt;
the businesses and tourist attractions can get much
better exposure through this app which mean more
tourist and visitors for their business, the people using the
app to find and explore different things that a city can give
them memories for a lifetime and finally it’s a benefit to
LifeHunt for the app to become a global app.
