Our project idea came to existence when we came to know that 85% of the total fresh water in India and around the globe is used in irrigating crops but the main problem is that as much as 60 % of the water diverted or pumped for irrigation is wasted. Thus we decide to develop a product that will tackle this issue when we launch the product . As resources are getting depleted every year exponentially,we can assume that strict laws and regulations for efficient use of resources in agriculture might appear in coming years and to stand with it technologies need to be used in agricultural processes. As we started building our product and doing user research with farmers we got to know why technologies have not been adapted in agricultural practices . Incorporating tech in agriculture has lot of barriers to entry/adoption especially in developing countries like India,Bangladesh etc which we need to overcome first and we did overcome them .Some of the major barriers are:- •Connectivity in rural areas (No access to 3G and 4G) •Cost of product and services •Telecommunications infrastructure issues •Regular Power cut-off •Needs for IoT tools that are completely scalable •Lack of work on the user experience of farmers To overcome all the barriers we have developed Kisaan pro .This device costs less than US$20-25, enabling farmers to monitor the soil and atmosphere, and automate processes such as irrigation and resource management etc which will result in higher yield. .Farmers have very limited access to the internet and are limited to 2G/GSM thus we build Kisaan Pro so that can run on GSM band (2G). who your project is for and how you will bring your project to market? Our projects are aimed at farmers in developing and underdeveloped countries, where the availability of agricultural resources and plant education is limited to non-existent. We will bring the project to the market by first completing the PCB prototype of the module and sensor, and then after deciding on the housing and preparing the prototype design for manufacturing, we can mass-produce and distribute the device, while the web/mobile application can be accessed from anywhere. Hello Microsoft! Team Vision: We have envisioned through our project that the entire process of agriculture is systemized, facilitated and digitalized for farmers from both rural as well as urban areas throughout the world. By this, we strive for organized and well-managed farming and regulated use of resources at effective costs all together and by removing all barriers to entry in the Agri-tech space. To make this vision a reality each team member of Project-Farmer has contributed to the team in a very unique way, in all product development processes from Ideation phases to the development phase. We, as a team, have empathized with all the pain points of farmers by conducting extensive user research and have developed feasible solutions to serve their unmet needs. • Name : Tanishq Jaiswal (The Hardware guy) Branch: Computer science with specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (Pre-final year) Achievements- Hack Harvard winner , Microsoft azure hackathon winner He has been on the front line guiding the entire team for API connections. He handles all aspects of connecting hardware and software. The most emerging technology is the Internet of Things. • Name : Vishesh Tripathi (The Technical Guy) Branch: Computer science with specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (Second year) Achievements- Achievements-Android-Developer Challenge 2021 Winner , AWS DeepRacer Open Division Winner, ICPC Regionalist He is committed to user roles, interacting with users, discovering their problems and what they want. He has also worked on competition audits, problem statements, and user stories. Improve the model through brand recognition and design thinking. Vishesh continues to take the lead in the technical part, providing the entire team implementation of the web application and the additional functionality implemented directly on the Azure platform. The deployment of the data lake and web application has been handled by him. • Name : Vipul Jaiswal (The Product manager/Mini CEO ) Branch: Computer science with specialization in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics (Pre-final year) Achievements- EY Case competition 2020 (Won internship at EY), Asia Innovation summit winner Vipul has won prestigious national competitions In the Business and Tech domain namely EY Case competition 2020 where he won a consulting internship at EY and won Asia Innovation summit respectively. He was actively involved in Ideating the solution to the problem and developing a feasible product and its go to market strategy. He works as a product manager for the team and constantly work on improving our product with a main focus on Innovation and customer-centric user experience • Name : Akarsh Tripathi (The Creative Guy ) Branch: Computer science with specialization in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics (Second year) Achievements- National winner of DTU Startup Weekend 2020 by Techstars & Google Akarsh along with Vishesh worked on Web-application deployment and connecting it to the data servers. He is also responsible for the user design and technical aspects of the project, including Azure development and Rest API. He also considers user experience and research, finds out the pain points and problems faced by users, and continuously improves user experience. He is a part of prestigious organizations including .NET foundation which supports an innovative open-source ecosystem around .NET platform.
