Disabled people all around the world have problems with transportation. They either use wheelchairs, other people, specially trained dogs, or a so-called white cane, a 90 cm stick that blind people hold in front of themselves to make sure their way is clear. Dogs and bars aren’t reliable, and it’s difficult to constantly have a person near you, especially if you don’t pay them. Path Assistant directly addresses this issue. It is a smart electric wheelchair that operates both with and without human input. Path Assistant uses ultrasonic distance sensors to follow the path below it, providing a comfortable ride for people with disabilities.

Daris Hassanzadeh Abadi, Ibrahim Ahmadli and Murad Hajiyev are high school students who work to help improve society and make the world an equally comfortable place for everyone. Their urge to programming, robotics and engineering let them come up with an innovation called Path Assistant, and simultaneously enjoy the tasks they are completeing.
