Beta Team project ‘Bee’ is an app that is connected with Beacons technology for retail shops. It aims to provide customers with a unique, smart shopping experience while improving the understanding and the context of the world around the app users. Bee aims to enhance the shoppers experience and to empower retail stores by creating a hive of activity. ‘Bee’ is integrated with the Beacon technology powered by Bluetooth low energy for in-door navigation, to pinpoint the location of customers and deliver messages to their mobile devices. Additionally, it optimizes crowd management by illustrating detailed in-door analytics and real-time dashboards and rich reports.

BetaTeam is always inspired by the latest technology trends and on-going innovation. The team members always seek to try and learn how to integrate these cutting-edge technologies with what they develop. This is the second time for the team to compete in Imagine Cup as they have achieved 2nd place in the regional competition of Imagine Cup in Middle East and Africa 2015 that was hosted in Bahrain. However, this time they are returning way stronger with more passion and willingness to compete globally.
